Privacy policy

Indenta is made by Excello Digital. This policy covers the Indenta app for Mac, iPad and iPhone, and this website.

Your documents

Indenta stores your documents as ordinary Markdown files. When you are signed into iCloud they are kept in your own iCloud Drive, under your Apple account and subject to Apple's terms. When you are not, they are kept locally on your device.

The contents of your documents are never sent to Excello Digital. We operate no server that holds them, we have no way to read them, and we do not receive their titles, their text, or how many of them you have.

No account

Indenta has no sign-up and no login. We do not collect your name, your email address, or any other identifier that would let us recognise you.

Crash and performance reporting

So that we can find and fix failures, the app sends anonymous diagnostic reports to Sentry, a third-party error-monitoring service. A report may include the device model, the operating system version, the app version, and a technical description of what failed — a stack trace and the name of the operation.

These reports never include document content, file names, or search terms. A percentage of sessions also sends anonymous performance timings. We use this information only to diagnose and repair problems in the app.

This website

This site is a set of static pages. It sets no advertising or tracking cookies. The only thing it stores in your browser is your choice of light or dark appearance, which stays on your device.

Children

Indenta is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
