Questions

What Indenta does, where your files live, and what it deliberately leaves out.

Where are my files kept? +

In an ordinary folder of .md files. Signed into iCloud, they live in your iCloud Drive in a folder named Indenta, visible in the Files app and in Finder. Not signed in, they live on the device. Either way they are plain text files you can open, copy or back up with anything.

Does it sync between my devices? +

Yes, through your own iCloud Drive. Start a draft on the Mac and carry on with it on the phone. There is no account with us and no server of ours in the middle.

Do I need iCloud to use it? +

No. With no iCloud account, Indenta stores everything on the device instead and says nothing about it. You lose syncing between devices, and nothing else.

Can I open Markdown files I already have? +

Yes. Put them in the Indenta folder in iCloud Drive or in Finder and they appear in the library. Indenta reads and writes ordinary .md, so there is nothing to convert and nothing to import.

Which devices does it run on? +

Mac, iPad and iPhone, on macOS 26 and iOS 26 or later. One app across all three.

Can I print, or make a PDF? +

Yes. On the Mac, File ▸ Print and File ▸ Export as PDF. On iPhone and iPad, share the document as a PDF from the editor. Printing uses a layout made for paper — the markers are gone and headings are set as headings — and it repaginates when you change paper size rather than clipping the page.

Does it support Markdown tables? +

No. Table syntax is left exactly as you typed it, both on screen and on the printed page. Headings, bold, italic, strikethrough, code, quotes, lists, links and horizontal rules are all styled.

Does Indenta use AI? +

No. There is no assistant, no suggestion and no model in the app. If you want your system's own writing tools on a passage, they work in Indenta the same as they do anywhere else.

What happens when I delete a document? +

It moves to Recently Deleted at the bottom of the library and waits there. You can put it back, or remove it for good.

What languages does it speak? +

English, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Swedish and Ukrainian. The app follows your device language and falls back to English.
